Welcome to our website. The site describes some of the work conducted by Dr Brian McNeil and Dr Gordon Robb of the Department of Physics at the University of Strathclyde.
The main body of work is in the field of collective interactions. Collective, or cooperative, interactions can occur in systems of particles interacting with each via a common field. The particles communicate and organise to change the common field in an interaction that is different from a sum of individual particle interactions. Such collective interactions are generally non-linear. Still not sure what a collective interaction is - let Dougal the Wonderdog explain!
The headings below give further detail, some hopefully useful resources and details of publications.
