Jan Karolin
Lecturer

Jan Karolin

Jan graduated in 1993 from the University of Umeå, Sweden, with a BS degree in Physical Chemistry. Under the supervision Prof. Lennart B-A Johansson, he developed a new fluorescence technique for the investigation of biomolecular structure/function. He obtained his Ph.D. in 1998. In 1999, he joined the Photophysics group as a postdoctoral fellow and he was appointed as a lecturer in 2007. JOK has published more than 20 papers in the field of spectroscopy and biomolecular science. He is an expert in the preparation of sol-gels and biological silicate nanostructures.
