</o:shapelayout></xml><![endif]--></head><body lang=EN-GB link=blue vlink=purple><div class=WordSection1><p class=MsoNormal>Hi Everyone<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Further to the Departmental Committee meeting yesterday, I would like to advise staff with research grants to ensure that they are aware of the core elements of their funding, in particular, equipment and the rules associated with making large purchases.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal> <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Recently, issues have arisen with certain spending being disallowed due to the rules of the funding bodies. It is important that you understand the terms and conditions of your grant to ensure that you can fully utilise your funds without incurring any nasty surprises at the end of the contract.
