Now, I am requesting you to send me the project descriptors, with a deadline of 2 weeks from today, i.e. <b>Friday, 23d August</b>. A blank project proposal form is attached to this email.</div><div><div><br></div><div>Ideally, the proposal should fit a <u>single</u> sheet of paper: it's main purpose is to stimulate students' interest so that they can discuss what the project involves in detail with the proposer. Each student will be required to provide a 'wish-list' of 3 projects in rank order. Then the fun begins; last year we were successful in allocating about 90% of students with their first or second choice projects.</div><div><br></div><div>For our new members of staff, please consider taking on an undergraduate assistant to help establish your research activity at Strathclyde. You may want to consider taking a second supervisor's role in one of the ongoing projects in your group or Division.</div><div><br></div><div>Any questions, please ask me or Tim and remember the deadline: 23 August (date of Steve Barnett's leaving do.)</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>Best Regards,</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>Kevin</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br class="webkit-block-placeholder"></div><div></div></div></body></html>
