<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#002060">I am pleased to announce the launch of the Carnegie/Caledonian PhD Scholarship scheme 2016 for students with 1st class Honours degrees from a Scottish University. I would be grateful if you could arrange for
this scheme to be advertised to potential PhD students and supervisors across your Department/School. The nomination form attached details what is required for the internal stage of the process.</span><o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#002060">The University of Strathclyde can submit five applications and individual Faculties will be limited to a maximum of 5 nominations; accordingly, the deadline for applicants/academics to submit their application
to RKES is the <b>26<sup>th</sup> January 2016</b>. RKES will then interact directly with Faculty colleagues in order to have Faculty nominations confirmed by 1<sup>st</sup> February 2016.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#002060"> </span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#002060">Once the students have been selected internally at University level, the nominated applicants and associated academic supervisors should work with their VDRs in order to tune the applications towards final submission.
The prospective supervisors are responsible for submitting the nomination form, statement of institutional support form, and academic transcripts on behalf of their student. These must be submitted online through the Trust’s website by
<b>5pm on the</b> <b>29<sup>th</sup> February 2016.</b> Multiple submissions for the same student by different universities or academics are not permissible. Further information can be found at:
