Dear Colleagues,

Following on from Andrew Daley's email of 27 Nov., detailing
preparations for the forthcoming research audit and REF 2020
preparation, I have arranged, as the new Departmental Impact
Coordinator, an information session on impact by Jo Pitt of RKES for
11am, Tues. 8 Dec in JA326. The role of impact in the next
REF is either expected to remain the same contribution of 25% as REF
2014, or possibly to increase to 30%. Contributers to the impact
cases will therefore contribute significantly to the Department's
final REF submission.

We need to prepare a number of ‘Impact in progress’ case studies
that will be submitted to the University Research Audit for ~22 Jan
2016. It is important that these case studies develop with the
research over time until 2020 and that evidence of impact is gained
along the way.

Following a short presentation of how we can maximise the quality of
our impact cases studies while minimising the associate workload,
there will be a Q&A session.

Regards,
Brian.
