This is the final call for your submission of your Impact in
Progress Case Studies as detailed in my earlier email below and
attached.<br>
<br>
Can I remind you that there will probably be 4 Case Studies
submitted to the next REF2020 which will count ~25% towards the
final assessment. We currently have 6 that have been submitted to
consider.<br>
The hard sell: If you are one of the four Impact Case Studies
submitted, you will have a significant input to our REF submission.
This is estimated as being equivalent to approximately two 4*
publications. So, if you think you may have a potential Case Study,
an hour or two spent now (that is all it should take) would be a
very good investment of your time.<br>

<pre>Dear All,
Thanks to those who attended this morning's talk on 'Impacts in
Progress'. It was clear that Impact will play a greater role in the next
REF and that, as with REF 2014, there are significant benefits to both
the Department and the individual contributers of well prepared Impact
Case Studies. The talk slides attached give detail of what is expected
of a successful Case Study and how to achieve it. The Department will
submit a total of seven 'Impacts in Progress' to the University's
Institutional Research Audit early in 2016. For them to be effective,
the Case Studies will need to grow and develop until the REF 2020
submission. It is important for us is to start this process now.
As described in the slides, if you wish to submit a proposal for a Case
Study you will need to complete a short (2-page) 'Impact in Progress'
document. Details and a template document can be obtained from sharepoint:

Please ensure this is submitted by Friday Jan 22, 2016. Some potential
Case Studies have already been identified. New ones probably also exist
that have the potential to emerge and develop but have not yet been
identified.
I will be contacting some of you in the near future to discuss potential
Case Studies that have been identified. We would also like you to inform
us of potential new Case Studies so that an 'Impact in Progress'
document can be prepared. If any of you wish to discuss these potential
new Case Studies, or anything else regarding the above, please feel free
to either drop by my office (JA711) or drop me an email.
