<p class="MsoPlainText"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">Nanoscience course: 6 (of which I expect to be 4-5 in chemistry)
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">other interest in nanoscience / solid state: 4 (one explicit call for solar cells)
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">experimental quantum optics: 1 <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">photonics/optics (which can be in EQOP): 6 <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">theoretical quantum optics/quantum information: 2-3 <o:p>
</o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">plasma: 2 <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">plasmas with astrophysical relevance: 1<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoPlainText">The students were encouraged to talk to potential supervisors already and some of them might have done so. The selection process is as indicated.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoPlainText">1. If a student and a supervisor negotiated a tailored project, this is theirs.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">2. For the other students, a booklet with the suggested projects is distributed end of February from which they give three choices. The projects are then attributed prioritized via semester 1 performance. In doubt, a Nanoscience student
will have preference to get a project in the Nanoscience division before Applied Physics/Optical Technology students.<o:p></o:p></p>
