<p class="MsoNormal">The team that supports the software on the 1500 student PCs in the centrally-managed computer labs around the campus, and in the library, is currently preparing the software catalogue for the next academic year. They are also investigating
alternative ways in which these software packages can be delivered to the student community.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">I appreciate that it seems strange to be thinking about teaching lab software in the current “lockdown” climate, but we need to finalise the software manifest, (and licensing etc) very soon to enable it to be delivered by the start of teaching.
If you need software which is not listed below, you need to request it now, otherwise it will not be installed. (even if it was installed last year!)<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">For the last academic year 2019/20 we asked you to explicitly request the software required in the labs even if site licensed. One of the reasons for this is that we have to justify the software we install in the labs to achieve CyberEssentials+
certification. Thanks to your co-operation the centrally managed desktop was awarded CyberEssentials+ in November last year.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">To maintain this certification we continue to need to justify the software we install every year. For the academic year 2020/21 the standard build will contain the following core software:<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Before submitting your request, please ensure that the license agreement permits the usage you require. Trial software does not normally permit deployment for teaching. If you are unsure, please contact the vendor of the software for clarification.
If the software you are requesting is licensed, can you please ensure that the license key covers the full duration of the academic year.<o:p></o:p></p>
