<p class="MsoNormal">Strathclyde have been involved with his CDT for many years and some of you have supported a number of students through the CDT in the past For new staff and those of you who are less familiar with the CDT it support industry related research
and the scope of the CDT is relatively broad to include photonic sensing, system development, metrology, laser systems, imaging and photonic-related signal processing. Each project requires industry funding, which provides a project budget for the academic
and a stipend enhancement for the student – which help make these studentship attractive to students who may wish to proceed in to industry after their doctorate. The CDT, University & Faculty cover the EPSRC fees and stipend. Further details are available

<span style="color:black">The Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Applied Photonics is a consortium of academic and industrial researchers with the objective of supporting industrially-informed doctoral research projects related to photonics and optics.
The CDT has been funded by EPSRC and Industry since 2001 and is the longest running Centre for Doctoral Training in Photonics in the UK.
