                  January 29<sup>th</sup> at 1pm BST
                </b>Alison Voice (University of Leeds) will be chairing
                the first meeting of 2021.  This meeting’s themes is
                <b>Semester 1 Experiences</b> and there will be five
                short presentations.  </span></p>
            <p class="MsoPlainText"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#3B3838">Philip
                Moriarty (University of Nottingham) will share his
                experience of taking a second year quantum mechanics
                module online, for which the asynchronous content
                (notes, videos, simulations, and blog posts) was
                complemented by live engagement sessions involving
                multiple choice conceptual questions and the PINGO
                audience response tool.</span></p>
            <p class="MsoPlainText"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#3B3838">We
                will have a summary of some of the necessary changes to
                practical work: Jonathan Taylor (University of Glasgow)
                and Viktor Tsepelin (University of Lancaster) will be
                reflecting on the limitations on lab space and the
                digital tools used to recreate labs their in Year 2 and
                Year 3 labs in consecutive presentations.

            <p class="MsoPlainText"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#3B3838">On
                the topic of Assessment, Samantha Pugh (University of
                Leeds) will talk about delivering online open book
                examinations and Simon Vaughan (University of Leicester)
                will be sharing his experience with moving all the
                Physics formative assessments online.</span></p>
            <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#3B3838">Whilst
                there will be no break-out rooms this week, there will
                be time for questions after the groups of talks. The
                speakers have agreed to be recorded so you can catch up

          will be discussing Assessments. Both speakers have agreed to

          the current environment. Both of our presenters will be
          sharing their experience of assessment practices established
          before the move to online.  Mark Everitt (University of
          Loughborough) will be presenting their philosophy on
          assessment including a way to support synoptic learning
          through narratives and open ended exam questions and Matt
          Mears (University of Sheffield) will be discussing his use of
          portfolios as a way to assess student learning.</p>
