<p class="xxmsonormal"><b>Summary: If you plan to use centrally managed student computing environments for teaching next academic year, you need to tell us NOW what specialist software you need.</b><o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="xxmsonormal">Information Services manage various computing environments which are available to students for timetabled teaching and private study. These include around 1500 desktop PCs in the Library and around the campus.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="xxmsonormal">We are currently preparing for the delivery of central student computing for the academic year 2022/23. As in previous years, we need you to tell us what software you require. You cannot assume that software will be available next year
simply because it is there this year. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="xxmsonormal"> <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="xxmsonormal">We get externally audited annually to ensure our devices meet the requirements for Cyber Essentials Plus certification. To maintain this certification we need to justify the software we install each year. For the academic year 2022/23
the standard build will contain the following core software:<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="xxmsonormal" style="margin-left:36.0pt">Microsoft Edge Chromium<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="xxmsonormal" style="margin-left:36.0pt">7-zip<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="xxmsonormal">All other software products – even if site-licensed - must be explicitly requested each academic year.
