</o:shapelayout></xml><![endif]--></head><body lang=EN-GB link=blue vlink=purple><div class=WordSection1><p class=MsoNormal>This afternoon at 5pm, the Student Community for Optics and Photonics Engineering (SCOPE) offers free beer and free pizza at our welcome and information event! <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>If you have not heard of us before, SCOPE is the student chapter at Strathclyde for the Institute of Physics, the Optical Society of America and the European Physical Society. Our membership and committee are mostly made up of postgraduate students, and the events we organise take that into account.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>We organise visits to physics and optics based companies, networking and social events, outreach events in the community, and seminars.
