Dear All,

It’s come to my attention that not all of you are aware that you rare required to complete and upload a ‘reflective essay’ for each of the 5 streams of the RDP programme once all of your claims for credit have been logged and approved.
This will appear as a new button at the bottom of the stream on Spider once I have approved your credits – which should now have been done.

This has caused some consternation because the guidelines mention 1-2000 word essays. In actual fact, what is required is a short document that shows you have undertaken an element of reflection regarding how your activities have met the
written ‘learning outcomes’ of the RDP stream. The word counts are a maximum and in many cases it looks like a lot of that is taken up with a basic summary of the activities so the ‘reflective’ part of the exercise will not need anything like this amount of
effort.

Although I will be approving these in the first instance, they will be looked at by the RDP team so please do complete these but I would counsel you to look carefully at the guidelines and deal with the specific needs of the exercise –
doing so should limit the amount of time/effort that is needed.

If anyone has any questions, I am happy to discuss.
