Dear Postgrads

Please see below for details of a great opportunity to represent the
Department and University in a European Space Agency sponsored
technical challenge competition. This is a terrific opportunity to
develop an unusual component for your CV and a chance to contribute
to the further involvement of the Physics Department in the
activities of the Strathclyde space Institute.

The group is looking for someone with good understanding of basic
physics (e.g. simple optics etc) - the technical level is not too
demanding. I think anyone with a degree in Physics could happily
take on the role.

Please contact me if you are interested in taking part.

Cheers
David

Dear Colleagues

I am glad to inform you that the University of
Strathclyde is one of the 3 institutions in Europe selected by the
European Space Agency to participate in the European Concurrent
Engineering Challenge 2017. The challenge is open to students and
supervisors.

We have a first team of students from the Space
Institute lined up to work on the challenge: five from MAE working
on mission analysis, space systems engineering, propulsion,
structures and CAD, thermal, 2 from EEE working on telecom,
electronics and power (TBD), one from Physics working on payload.

If you have any other student (UG, MSc or PhD)
who is potentially interest in being part of the SSI team please
let me know.

For this challenge we will use our Concurrent
and Collaborative Design Studio in the TIC building.
