<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Registration for
the SUPA Careers Event on Thurs 17 January 2019 at Dynamic
Earth, Edinburgh, is now open! Please register using

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">This annual
event is open to those in the second half of their PhD and
beyond, up to post-docs.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">The event brings
together a number of exciting guests with a range of careers,
all having started with a PhD in physics. The event is for you,
so rather than lots of talks you will have the opportunity to
talk to all the guests and each other, about what you can do
with your PhD, the pitfalls, the opportunities, what people have
found valuable in their jobs, what they wish they’d known when
finishing up or moving on from academia etc.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Guests will be
from Canon Medical, Education Scotland, Heineken, Leonardo, M
Squared, Marks & Clerk, Physics World, Quantic, Razorbill
Instruments, Thales, UKATC and University of Glasgow. You’ll
also be able to pick up the Physics World Careers 2019 guide,
hot off the press (due out in the new year), full of company
profiles for you to consider, and speak to the Institute of
Physics Scotland National Officer about membership.
</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">We will also
hold a CV clinic, for you to bring your CV and have it checked
over by an expert. We will have Careers Advisers and an industry
HR representative. If you would like to book a 10-15min
appointment in the CV clinic, please sign up on this <a
