Adding papers to the "Selected Publications" page
A database of the Department's selected recent publications has been set up by Paul Edwards. It can be accessed through an index, through the academic staff pages and through the phone & email list. Individual staff members are responsible for adding their own papers to the database. In order to allow automated linking of the publications with the staff pages, the details need to be added in a standardised format. This is done by exporting directly from the ISI Web of Knowledge website.
Notes
- The publications should be recent (last ~7 years).
- The publications should be selected (i.e. not your entire publications list).
- Please only email the publications from within ISI Web of Knowledge, following the instructions given below. Do not send lists of publications in any other format (Word, BibTex, Endnote etc)
- To remove papers from the database, send an email to publications-at-phys.strath.ac.uk.
- Every paper in the database will be automatically linked with each member of staff whose name appears in the author list. Adding or deleting your paper from the database will therefore affect your co-authors' lists.
- You can access the same database to add publications lists to your personal or research group web pages, by including a short section of PHP code. To find out how to do this, contact Paul Edwards.
Upload instructions
- Log in to ISI Web of Knowledge (http://isiknowledge.com).
- Search for the papers you want to have added to the database, and add them to your "marked list".
- Go to the "marked list" page.
- Keeping the default settings for all the options, email the list to publications-at-phys.strath.ac.uk. Do this using the e-mail function within the marked list page; do not copy and paste into your regular email software, as this will lose the bibligraphic tags.
- The new publications will appear on the site shortly, together with a Digital Object Identifier allowing the reader to link to the abstract/full text.
