ADAS Workshop 2023
The 2023 ADAS Workshop will be held 20–21 November at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow.
For the first time since the upset of the global pandemic the ADAS workshop will be an in-person event. To re-boot the meeting we will return to our origin and hold it at the University of Strathclyde.
It will held be on-campus with remote participation via zoom.
The workshop will be held in late November and this week was chosen to avoid clashing with other meetings. A full day on Monday 20th and a half-day on Tuesday 21st are scheduled.
DRAFT AGENDA and ZOOM details:
The ADAS workshop tries to favour discussion over presentations but we wish for a structured meeting. For those joining remotely we will theme the morning and afternoon sessions.

POST-WORKSHOP TRAINING COURSE:
There will be a training course on ADAS on Wednesday 22nd November in the Physics department. This will give a light introduction to the interactive system and a more in-depth exploration of the ADAS python library.
SUNDAY 19th:
There will be a self-organising informal gathering on Sunday afternoon. There is an event in Glasgow to switch on the Christmas Lights on Sunday 19th between 16:00-19:00 in George Square. This was the obvious place to meet up but since the switch-on event is ticketed, and will be busy, we will meet in front of the John Anderson Physics building at 16:30. This is not too far from the centre of Glasgow and will also be the meeting point on Monday and Tuesday since the rooms for the workshop are typical for a university and may not be easy to find.
The John Anderson building is at the top of a hill and its co-ordinates are 55° 51' 41.4"N 4° 14'28.4"W. There is an interactive map here.
TIME AND PLACE, MONDAY and TUESDAY:
On Monday the meeting will be held in room GH739 in the Graham Hills building. We will meet at 9:15 in the Physics department in the foyer of the John Anderson building since this is much more accessible and easier to find. See Sunday for location details.
We hope to have a social dinner on Monday evening but the venue for this is not yet decided.
On Tuesday our meeting room is in the Royal College (RC540) but we will meet in the John Anderson foyer at 9:15 as before.
COSTS AND ACCOMMODATION:
There is no cost for the workshop, or the training course, but participants will need to pay for accommodation, lunch and dinner.
There are many hotels in central Glasgow. The closest to the University are the Premier Inn on George Square and Moxy Glasgow Merchant City, both a 2 minute walk from the meeting.
TRAVEL:
Participants will need to cover their own travel costs to the meeting.
Glasgow is a very well connected city and there are many ways to travel. An exhaustive set of options from VisitScotland are detailed here.
VISA AND INVITATION LETTERS:
If you need a visa to visit the UK, or a letter of invitation to attend the workshop, please contact us.
MEETING AGENDA:
A tentative agenda is being drafted and should be available soon. It is our usual practice to try to have most participants make a presentation so if there is something you would like to present then please let us know. We can adapt the agenda up to the start of the meeting.
PROCEEDINGS:
The workshop is an informal meeting, which traditionally does not publish its proceedings. Many people like to present material which is not yet ready for a wider audience. However we offer the opportunity to make the talks available on the ADAS website. This is completely at the discretion of the presenter.
QUERIES:
No formal registration is required but we would like to know if you wish to attend, and on which days. Name badges will be issued since the meeting rooms are in the public areas of the University.
