Dear John, Billy, Paul, Ian, Keith
A Happy New Year to you all !
It is the time of year when I look to find a new committee to organise
the University Research day and there is to be an information event on
Jan 24th to help people decide if they want to join or not.
Normally we get around 30 volunteers and the committee only then
operates between February and June...........so it is not too onerous
and not too long a commitment.
It is good for those people who would like to grow the citizenship part
of their CV say for ADR/promotion purposes and/or who would like to find
out more about the wider university.
This year's event has a KE slant and will be focused on Public
Engagement..........particularly with schools.
I wonder if I could ask you to forward this email to your dept contacts
and ask them to circulate it then to their dept colleagues.
Some more information:
The annual University of Strathclyde Research Day will be held on the
5th June 2013. It is a celebration of Strathclyde’s research
achievements, an opportunity for the interdisciplinary sharing of good
practice in research, a vehicle for promoting interdisciplinary
collaboration, and a training mechanism for early stage career researchers.
This year University Research Day will be focused on Public Engagement
activities, and will see schools and the public engaging in our
excellent research. A Dragons' Den Style Event will also take place.
Each year a new organisation committee is formed from a wide range of
academic and non-academic staff, and early stage career researchers
across a wide range of disciplines.
If you would like to find out more about the event and how to get
involved in its organisation then please come along to the “fact
finding” meeting, 24th Jan 2012, 12:30-13:30, Colville room 405. Lunch
will be provided.
If you are intending coming then, for catering purposes, can you please
