Dear All,
A possible chance to recoup some money already spent on international engagement....
Summarising:
- There's a possibility that a proportion of money spent on international research visits or hosting research visitors (only to/from N. America, China, Japan, Korea, India or Singapore) between 1st April 2012 – 31st March 2013 (these dates are non-negotiable) could be paid from another source.
- please reply to Catherine by XX giving the following details - where you went (Institution and country) or details of hosting, dates and approx. ££

I was wondering if you know of anyone within your department of you have visited an institution in N. America, China, Japan, Korea, India or Singapore to discuss research collaborations between 1st April 2012 – 31st March 2013 (these dates are non-negotiable) or have hosted an academic/researcher/PhD student from any of these countries. There is no guarantee at this time but we may be able to cover a proportion of the travel/subsistence costs through the global engagement budget as long as the expenses have not already been claimed from another publicly funded project which has ended. If the money has been claimed from a publicly funded project and we are able to vire the money from the Global budget to the one that was used this should be ok.

Please note that the grant cannot be used for travel to conferences or student recruitment trips etc.

At this point I would only need information about where you/a colleague went (University and Country) for what and approx. ££. I am putting the information together to present to David Littlejohn, the PI.

Kind regards

Clare
