Nominations are sought for the 2012 Fred Stern Prize, the Department's prestigious prize for a PhD student who has demonstrated performance of exceptionally high quality.

Candidates should have had their PhD viva in the calendar year *2012*.

The nominator will normally be the supervisor and/or external examiner, but any member of staff can submit a nomination. Nominations will be assessed by the Head of Department and the Postgraduate Tutor, taking advice as appropriate.

A nomination should include a brief supporting statement which may include e.g.

- comments from the external examiner report (copies are held in the student record - ask Kayleigh if you want to see these)

Nominations should be submitted to me by 31 May 2013.
