Dear all
I'm forwarding an email from the Library regarding the balance of the book acquisitions fund.
Please note that although the note refers to 'department' this is actually the Faculty of Science account, run on a first-come-first-served basis. For best effect, we should spend early and often.
Please forward your Physics book choices to me with Title, Author, Publisher, Date, Edition and ISBN if available.
Thanks and best wishes for the holidays,
Kevin

> This is just to update you on the status of your departmental book allocation which is outlined below and to encourage the Department to submit book suggestions.
>
> Allocation: Commitments: Expenditure: Balance:
> £30332.00 £834.13 £7649.74 £21848.13
>
> Please be aware that it has become Library Policy to automatically search for an ebook for material being ordered for Short Loan. If multiple copies are being suggested, and an ebook is available this will be purchased and this may have an impact on the final quantity of copies being ordered and debited from your Departmental Book Fund. Any ebook ordered as the result of a Digitisation request from a Department will debit that Departmental Book Fund.
>
> Please note that in order for funds not to remain unspent towards the end of the financial year, it has been agreed by the Library Board that departments should strive to reach the following expenditure targets:
>
> 25% of books funds expended by mid-January 2014
> 70% of book funds expended by Easter 2014
>
> After Easter, subject librarians will start to place orders against departmental book funds. All funds should be fully spent by the end of June in time for the financial year-end in mid July.
>
> If you have any queries concerning your allocation, then please do not hesitate to contact myself or Pamela Shaw.
