Subject: Fwd: Strategic partnerships for Science
Dear All,
See the request below - please reply to Lynn (cc'ed) by 2pm on Thursday 6th. Lynn and I will then collate a response to Faculty.
The request is to nominate key international partners which could develop in to strategic partnerships - 3 institutions for each of Europe, Asia, Americas.
Thanks,
Rob
============================================================
Dear Heads
The University's Internationalisation Directorate have asked the Faculty to identify 5 key or strategic institutional partnerships that they can help us to develop.
These would be in addition to the University's strategic partnerships (Stanford, NYU, NTU, Tsinghua etc.)
Currently our interactions fall into three main categories:
* Articulation agreements, based mainly on teaching
* Exchange agreements e.g. Erasmus
* Research collaborations, generally informal, between individuals or research groups
To help us decide which of our relationships we wish to develop as a Faculty, could you please send me suggestions of key partners where you think there is a prospect of sustainability? For example, a teaching articulation that is developing well; or a research interaction where there is likely to be significant external funding for collaboration/exchanges, especially where this extends beyond one individual or group. A combination of teaching and research activities is welcome.
I'm looking for each department to nominate up to 3 institutions from each of:
* Europe
* Asia
* The Americas
Once we have your responses we can look for any overlap between these and come up with 5 that can be developed at Faculty level.
Please send responsesto Kirstin by next Friday 7th February.
Many thanks
Elizabeth
