Hello,

A second and final email about the PH450 project talks listed in the attached document.

I've received some emails from supervisors who can't be there - thank you for those. Please let me know if the times/dates conflict asap, for instance with the Colloquium on the 19th March. I will send this timetable out to students tomorrow, 20th February.

Also can you let me know your availability for the project vivas in the week 28th April - 2nd May? I will put together a draft timetable for that early next week.

Attached is a draft timetable for the 4th year project presentations.

There are four strands to fit in the 55 students taking PH450:


-          Nanoscience      Wed 19th March, 1pm-5pm, JA 5.04, Chair: Kevin O'Donnell

-          Optics                   Wed 26th March, 1pm-5pm, JA 5.04, Chair: Erling Riis

-          Plasmas                Wed 26th March, 1pm-5pm, Col 4.05, Chair: Adrian Cross

-          Theory                 Wed 26th March, 1pm-5pm, JA 5.06, Chair: Gordon Robb

Please can you check your availability for the times suggested, and contact me if there's a problem. I want to contact the students next Thursday, 20th February, so can you let me know by the end of Wednesday.

As always, your attendance at the presentations to provide an audience and marks for students other than those you supervise is much appreciated.

The presentation marks count for 10% of the marks for PH450.

Finally,


-          PH450 project report submission to MyPlace will be on the 14th April, after the Spring vacation,

-          Vivas are scheduled for the week beginning 28th April, revision week.

Any times you can't make that week, do let me know.
