Dear All,
now that the projects are (nearly) all done and dusted for another year, I would like to thank everyone involved in the huge effort of supervising and assessing an ever-increasing number of students. And of course Tim for his massive feats of organisation and the Viva Chairmen of the four themes: nano (KPOD), optics(ER), theory (GMR) and plasmas (ARC), without whom...
Some of the project reports were really excellent. I think publication of their work would be an achievable ambition for a few of our best students in every year group. Let me know if you agree and consider any of the reports you have read to be good enough to publish. (I was thinking of the Journal of Undergraduate Research: http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/fac/cross_fac/iatl/reinvention/about/ but there may be more suitable destinations for physics output.)
Finally, let me remind you to complete any unfinished paperwork you may have and to return it ASAP to Tim.
Best wishes,
Kevin
