Dear All,

Just a short message to let you know that Audrey McKinnon has begun the process of taking over Kayleigh's old role as PGR Secretary. We are fortunate in that Audrey brings a lot of experience in handling PGR matters and you'll notice that many of the communications regarding applications and admissions will now come from her rather than me as we try to find the most streamlined method of handling PGR matters. Please feel free to contact either of us with any questions, problems or observations that you may have.

One or two matters are requiring your attention:

1) It has come to my attention that PGR students submitting their thesis are doing so without notifying the department. This isn't helped by the fact that the form doesn't actually require departmental approval but it leads to gaps in our records so, as a courtesy, can I ask you all to make sure that a copy of all paperwork relating to submissions are copied to Audrey for filing.

2) Audrey will be contacting several of you in due course with regard to information that we need on the current position of students who are 'registered writing up'. These students tend to slip into the gap between the third year assessment and viva and sometimes reappear only when the maximum duration of study is exceeded so we will be trying to keep a closer eye on these. Again, I'd ask for you cooperation in this matter.

Thanks,
Neil
