Hi Everyone,
Early next year, the university will conduct a Research Audit. This is a key deciding factor for strategic support of departments, and it’s important that we provide all of the information we can so that the audit team can build up a complete picture of our activities in Physics.
The evaluation will largely be based on what you have recorded in PURE, especially research outputs and impact statements. Please ensure that you have recorded all of your research outputs (especially publications!) and had them verified on PURE by 30 January 2015. In order to ensure that everything is verified and accepted, it is important to start this early, and I would recommend that you ensure all relevant information is updated by a deadline Friday, 23 January 2015.
As a reminder, it is anyway important to keep PURE up to date and ensure that post-print manuscripts are uploaded to PURE within three months of the acceptance of any manuscript. Starting from next year, this will be a requirement for any manuscript that is submitted for evaluation in the next REF. This practice of putting accepted manuscripts into PURE, which also complies with green open access standards for EPSRC, will be required for the next REF, regardless of whether publications are also made green or gold open access via another mechanism.
Thanks for your help with this and best regards,
Andrew
