Library tours and SUPrimo drop-ins
As part of international student orientation, our last two Library tours<http://www.strath.ac.uk/library/usingthelibrary/librarytours/> (followed by SUPrimo drop-in sessions) will be running:

•    Wednesday 4 February at 13:15 and 14:15
These sessions are aimed primarily at new international students but anyone is welcome to join. There is no need to book. The meeting point is the old IT Sales area on Level 3. Pleasecontact Lorna Gilkison<mailto:l.gilkison at strath.ac.uk> if you have any queries.

National Libraries Day 2015

National Libraries Day takes place on Saturday 7 February.

National Libraries Day (NLD) celebrates every type of Library in the UK. Its steering group is made up of CILIP<http://www.cilip.org.uk/>, the Reading Agency, the School Library Association and the Society of Chief Librarians.

We’ll be taking part on social media during NLD week and CILIP in Scotland want you to share pictures on Twitter or Instagram of what’s happening in your Library (whether it’s the Andersonian or one nearer home).

The hashtags for the event are #NLD15 and #NLDScot. There’s also an NLD Flickr pool<https://www.flickr.com/groups/2706638@N25/>. Alternatively, you can email photos to admin at cilips.org.uk<mailto:admin at cilips.org.uk> (or send Andersonian photos to Emily Lawty<mailto:emily.lawty at strath.ac.uk> for them to be forwarded on your behalf).

Careers Week

Next week (2-6 February 2015) is Careers Week. The Careers Service’s information pod is near the shop on Level 2.

The Careers Service has a week of seminars planned. All seminars will take place in Livingstone Tower, however if you’d like to view the schedule it is available online<http://careers.strath.ac.uk/Events/tabid/4184/Default.aspx>.

Archives and Special Collections reading room CLOSED
The Archives and Special Collections reading room will be closed between 10am and 12 noon on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for the next 9 weeks to accommodate seminars for class QQ205: Literature, Culture, Technology.
Although the reading room will be closed, we will continue to accommodate our international visitors during this time. Please contact Carol Stewart<mailto:carol.stewart at strath.ac.uk> with any queries.

History of the Andersonian Library
Visit the new Archives and Special Collections display area near the entrance gates on Level 3 to explore the history of the Andersonian Library. Discover what the Library looked like in the 19th century and see the first ever Library catalogue from 1799.
