To All Researchers,
The EPSRC has published an Invitation for Outlines for its Healthcare Technologies Challenge Awards:
http://www.epsrc.ac.uk/funding/calls/healthcaretechchallengeawards/
This call is to support early career researchers (ECRs) to develop a personal programme of high quality, creative and multidisciplinary research and to build and grow their research group. A budget of £10 million is available to support around ten personal awards.
For this call, ECRs are defined as having held a permanent academic post at an eligible institution for a maximum of eight years.
As these are highly prestigious awards, the University has decided that it will support two applications and has therefore put in place the following internal selection process:
Applicants are to submit a 2 page summary (minimum size 11 font, single space, 2cm margins) by 5pm, Mon 13th April to catherine.breslin at strath.ac.uk<mailto:catherine.breslin at strath.ac.uk>
The summary must provide all of the following information:
Applicant details / research background / list of Healthcare-related research awards in previous 5 years (approx. 1/3 of a page)
Alignment to the Healthcare Technologies Challenge call (approx. 1/3 of a page)
Impact anticipated from your research (approx. 1/3 page)
How your research will revolutionise healthcare and how will you minimise barriers to implementation (approx. ¾ of a page)
Departmental / Faculty contribution to resources, as agreed with your HoD / Vice Dean / Dean (approx. ¼ page)
Summaries will be reviewed by a University panel comprising senior staff from the Science and Engineering faculties and RKES and the Chair will inform the 2 successful applicants by Fri 17th April.
The EPSRC deadline is 4pm, Thurs 14th May.
Best wishes,
Catherine
