Dear All,

Today is the date when EPSRC expectations on research data go up to
another level (see below - extracted from weekly update).

An additional comment from me - generation of the DOI (or other weblink)
for datasets, needed in your paper acknowledgements, requires the
dataset to be created and ready on PURE. This can take time so please
look to create the datasets in good time. Some Physics journals go very
fast from acceptance to print.

> *EPSRC POLICY FRAMEWORK ON RESEARCH DATA*
>
> From Friday 1 May, the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research
> Council (EPSRC) expects that all those receiving its funding are
> compliant with their expectations relating to research data management
> and sharing
> <https://www.epsrc.ac.uk/about/standards/researchdata/expectations/>.
> To comply with these expectations, staff or students in receipt of
> EPSRC funding now and in future must:
>
> ·have a data management plan in place for each EPSRC-funded project
>
> ·upload relevant completed/published data to Pure
> <http://pure.strath.ac.uk/admin/login.xhtml> where it can be allocated
> a unique identifier for effective citation
>
> ·ensure any EPSRC-funded published findings cite supporting data
>
> ·ensure supporting data uploaded to Pure is made publicly visible so
> that it appears on KnowledgeBase
> <https://pure.strath.ac.uk/portal/en/datasets/search.html>
>
> ·where access to data is restricted or data is stored in an external
> repository, a dataset record in Pure should explain what data exists
> and why the restriction is in place
>
> Please email the Research Data Management and Sharing
> <mailto:researchdataproject at strath.ac.uk> team or phone ext 4581 with
> any enquiries.

Regards,

Rob
