Dear All,

Please see below the request from Charlie Sweeting of Chaterhouse School. Charterhouse is one of the oldest public schools in the UK (see http://www.charterhouse.org.uk) and having someone go down and give a talk would be an ideal opportunity for the Department to break into the UK public school sector. If you would be willing to give a talk please let me know. The Department will cover your transport costs, within reason.

Nigel

Dear Strathclyde Physics Office,

I write on behalf of the Feynman society of Charterhouse school. We would like to invite
interested presenters from Strathclyde to give a talk on a topic of their choice in the school.

The Feynman society is a Physics lecture group for the Sixth form. The audience is generally very keen, so talks can be quite involved, as long as they are approachable at our level. The choice of topic is also completely free as long as there is some connection to Physics.

We extend the invitation to post-grad research students as well as teaching lecturers, and would be interested to hear about their work.

Charterhouse is based near Godalming, Surrey, and is roughly an hour from Waterloo by train. The lectures are held on a Thursday evening, and span from 6:30 to 7:30. The lecturer is invited for a three course dinner with the masters afterwards.

We would appreciate it if you could pass this email around to other lecturers and students at your university.

The available dates are below:
