Hi Everyone,
Please see below for information on drop-in sessions if you have any questions regarding open access.
As another reminder, please note that HEFCE’s policy is now in place, and any accepted publication must be on PURE (with recorded acceptance date and a postprint of the manuscript) within 3 months of acceptance, or it will be inadmissible for the next REF.
Best wishes,
Andrew

Dear all
In order to help academics further with open access, I have arranged for a number of staff to be available on Wednesdays for one to one sessions for academics.
If you could please forward the email below to research staff within your departments that would be most appreciated.
Kind regards

Drop-in sessions for Open Access, Research Data Management & PURE
A weekly by appointment drop in service for all Staff and PhD Students is now available each Wednesday from 10 am to 4 pm in 2/1, Andersonian Library - Curran Building.
With HEFCE’s Open Access policy for the next Research Excellence Framework<http://www.hefce.ac.uk/rsrch/oa/> (REF) now having taken effect, we need to ensure that all researchers know the essential steps to ensure that the accepted manuscript of their research outputs are uploaded to PURE.
We also want to make sure researchers know how to gain all the benefits of Open Access, and how to ensure that all their research outputs have maximum visibility.
With increasing requirements to manage data as part of funded projects, and new policies on data sharing in place from funders such as EPSRC, we want to ensure that our staff are able to get the support they need.
Strathclyde Staff/Phd Students are welcome to make an appointment to ask any questions regarding:
- Open Access
- HEFCE’s Open Access Policy for the next REF
- Uploading publications in Pure
- Funding for ‘Gold’ Open Access
- Open Access options for specific publishers
- Funders’ requirements on research data and publications
- Data Management Plans
- Uploading data sets in Pure
- Getting the most out of Pure
- Research Data Management
- Increasing Digital Footprint
- Creative Commons – Licencing/Copyright
- Use of Copyright Amendment
- Altmetrics
Appointments can be made by selecting the “openaccess” outlook calendar and putting a meeting request in, use the subject of the meeting for what you have questions on, and we will ensure that a person from the appropriate department is available at the time you have chosen. If you would prefer to have someone meet you in your office please indicate this in the meeting request and we will try and accommodate this.
Any questions please email openaccess at strath.ac.uk<mailto:openaccess at strath.ac.uk>
