I have had a request from Mr Rennie Wilson at Sanquhar Academy asking if we can help with a Nuffield Placement. Could anyone offer Billy Carlyle a physics placement running from early July to mid August?

Dear Nigel,


Two of my S5 students have applied for Nuffield Research Placements for this summer. One, Billy Carlyle, would be very keen on a Physics placement and the other, Jack Randall, would be very keen on an Engineering placement. Both are set to study Advanced Higher Physics with me next session.

The Nuffield placement coordinator is based in Abertay University, Dundee. She doesn't know this part of the country and has asked me for some pointers to place my two students. Would you be able to help Billy Carlyle with a place? Our summer holidays are from July 1st to August 18th. The dates and the duration are I should imagine flexible.

Would you be prepared to enquire on my behalf about an Engineering placement for Jack Randall?
