Newton Fund - UK-Malaysia partnerships
Please see below details of a recently announced Newton Fund call which can support Small Scale Research Partnerships between the UK and Malaysia.
The call supports up to £100,000 per grant.
There is also the opportunity to bid to work across a number of countries in the region – “Applicants are invited to submit bilateral or trilateral/multilateral collaborative research proposals comprising eligible researchers from the UK, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines or Thailand”. Huawei Innovation programme
The Huawei Innovation Research Program (HIRP) provides funding opportunities to leading universities and research institutes conducting innovative research in communication technology, computer science, engineering, and related fields. I’m pleased to announce the launch of a new research-grant scheme under Newton-Ungku Omar Fund: the Small Scale Research Partnerships Call, co-funded by Research Councils UK (RCUK) and Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (MoHE). The scheme is open for research projects between UK and Malaysian academic researchers.

(Kindly note that the call is launched regionally, with Indonesia, Philippines and Thailand also joining the call. However, the research projects/applications are meant to be bilateral with the UK only, and not multi-lateral between the SEA countries).

Application deadline
2nd August 2016 (Tuesday)
The call deadline is by 16:00 BST (23:00 Malaysian time) on 02 August 2016. Any applications received after this deadline will not be considered for funding.
