Dear all,

due to an industrial dispute, last year’s PH450 vivas were cancelled at short notice. This puts continuing students at a disadvantage, since the viva is itself a valuable part of their professional education, providing direct feedback as to progress.

When your MSc students resume their projects, please take some time to remedy the deficit, for example by conducting a mock viva, a general presentation and review, or otherwise as the case demands. In general, it’s a good idea to carry out such an exercise with continuing students who may see last year as a distant memory, but it is especially important for this year’s graduating class.

Let me know of any problems.

Best regards,

Kevin
