Dear All,
You may be aware of stories in the news recently concerning the compound 2, 4-DNP (2, 4-dinitrophenylyhydrazine). We have been asked to provide information regarding any stocks of this chemical in either Physics or the IoP as a matter of urgency - this information is being requested of the University by Police Scotland so I would appreciate your prompt cooperation.
If you have any DNP in your labs, either new or historical, please contact me, providing details of its location, the quantity, age and whether it is in a damp or dry state. If the chemical is suspected to be dry please do not remove the lid.
We need to respond by the close of play today so do get in touch asap.
Thanks,
Neil
