Dear All

We are still lacking MSc projects in spite of two calls and the advance
information in December. It is really important for our PGT recruitment
aspirations that we give the current cohort a good study experience, so
please engage with the process.

BCP and SILIS were very helpful already or gave firm commitments, thanks
very much.

From EQOP I have only Nigel's and mine projects, from IoP and SSD none.
We need another 8-9 projects in these areas, so roughly another 2 in
EQOP, 3 in IoP and 3 in SSD are the minimum.

Please supply these till March 24, please. (I will be away the next two
weeks.)

Students interested in chemistry and in theory are asked to talk to
Alastair and theoretical SSD/CNQO academics directly to fix something
up. Interest in theory should be max. one.

Regards

Thorsten

Dear All,

It is time to start the allocation process for the summer projects for
the MSc students. We need 24 projects. Please return by Friday, 17/2/2017.

1. If you negotiated a tailored project with one of the students, please
forward project description (template attached) and student name to Melanie.

2. If you propose a project, please fill in the project description and
return to Melanie to get it incorporated into a booklet with the
suggested projects. As for the level 4 projects, students will give
three choices. The projects are then attributed prioritized via semester
1 performance. The students are invited to talk to the potential
supervisors for details, but unless there are objections, I am planning
to do the allocation without a signing round. I will reject choices
which are obviously out of the remit of the student's choice of courses.

The project will run full time (60 credits) from beginning of June till
end of Aug:

Project start: 8/6/2017

Report hand-in: 24/8/2017

Assessment: 30/8-8/9/17

Thanks you very much.

Kind regards,

Thorsten
