Subject: [sci-faculty-aca] H2020 ITN Masterclass - Wednesday 29th November, 2-4 p.m. in GH450/451

Dear Faculty of Science Colleagues,

Just in case you missed it, in the most recent Weekly Digest there was information about the 2018 call for proposals for H2020 Innovative Training Networks (ITNs). The submission deadline for the 2018 call is Wednesday 17th January 2018. The available budget is €442 million. The Faculty of Science has done very well indeed through this funding route in recent years, and I'm aware of Science proposals being worked-up as I type.

To assist colleagues working towards the 17th Jan. deadline, including colleagues working on resubmissions, an ITN Masterclass has been designed and scheduled for Wed. 29th November, from 2-4 p.m. in GH450/451.

For some further information about the ITN Masterclass, and to register for the event, please go to:

https://bookings.strath.ac.uk/Home/Course/2706

If you would like yet further information, or plan to submit an application, please contact Katie Robinson in RKES.

By way of some further background, the ITN scheme supports joint training and/or doctoral programmes implemented by partnerships of universities, research institutions, businesses and other socio-economic actors from across Europe and beyond. ITNs train a new generation of creative, entrepreneurial and innovative early stage researchers (ESRs) through high quality doctoral-level skills training and international mobility. The scheme enhances cooperation between sectors/disciplines and facilities the creation of new international networks. Please note that UK organisations remain eligible to apply for Horizon 2020 projects and Strathclyde continues to win new H2020 awards, so please do not be distracted by any Brexit concerns.

The MSCA-ITN-2018 call opened on the 12th October. Details of the call can be found at:

Regards,

Peter
