Subject: [acaheads] Re: [scholarships-update] THOMAS AND MARGARET RODDAN TRUST BURSARIES 2018
The Trustees of the Thomas and Margaret Roddan Trust are offering a small number of bursaries of between £500 to £3,000 to undergraduate students who have completed at least one year of study; to postgraduates undertaking taught courses; or postgraduates engaged in research for a higher degree. The bursaries are NOT open to students commencing their studies in September 2018.
Awards may be made to students having their ordinary residence in Scotland and studying anywhere in the world (including Scotland) or students having their ordinary residence outside Scotland and studying in Scotland.
Students must complete an application form and personal statement and provide financial details. They will be required to prove hardship and detail how an award would help further their education and career goals. The Trustees will not favour applications to cover expenditure which should have been planned at the outset of the course such as required periods abroad and required field courses. The Trustees are, of course, willing to consider applications where a student has suffered financial hardship through unexpected circumstances.
The name of a referee is required and a reference provided with the application would be beneficial.
Further details and application forms (hard copies) are available from the Advice Centre and at https://www.strath.ac.uk/studywithus/scholarships/thomasmargaretroddantrust/ (live tomorrow).
Students can also contact us at financial-support at strath.ac.uk<mailto:financial-support at strath.ac.uk>
Completed applications must be returned to the Student Financial Support Team by Friday 25 May 2018 at 4pm. Applications received after this time will NOT be eligible for consideration.
Not more than ten applications from any University or Institution can be considered. The Trustees will make every effort to intimate the results of applications by 31 July 2018.
