Dear All
I would appreciate to find one volunteer to supervise a MSc summer
project (4/6-21/8) based on 3rd year experiments, please. This should
also help to develop the 3rd year lab.
There are two options, either "optical fibres" or "operational
amplifiers". I will pick the other supervision.
Optical fibres: Recommission a dormant experiment on fibre coupling and
birefringence in fibres, double it up and compare the two realizations
Operational amplifiers: develop a 3rd year experiment on operational
amplifiers: linearity and frequency response of an amplifier,
integrator and differentiator; set-up and characterize a more complex
application, e.g. photodetector or any other idea
It should not be too laborious. Ken is available to help with everyday
supervision. David will help, when he is back from the Arctic Ocean. I
will also take some interest.
Regards
Thorsten
