I have placed the PDFs of the submitted literature reviews on the idrive in the folder "Science\Physics\project\2018_2019\Lit Reviews". There are some that are outstanding (most with extensions) that I will upload as they are received. If your project student's submission is missing (and you are unaware of any request for an extension), please follow this up with them.
The Literature Review is an opportunity to review the student's understanding of the project, what they are aiming to achieve, and how they are to achieve that. You should also give feedback on the style of presentation, including referencing and the level of exposition that is expected for the final report.
For significantly high Turnitin scores, I have also placed the highlighted report alongside the submission. Please check whether the degree of similarity is of concern and make the student aware of this. They have been informed of the University policy on plagiarism but a reminder may be required.
Daniel.

Subject: PH450: Literature Review Due 15/10/2018 Noon
To 4th Year Project Supervisors,
The project students should submit their literature review on Monday via MyPlace (PDF), as well as a printed version to JA8.31 (unless an extension has been pre-agreed). They should have discussed this with you by now. You may want to remind them that:
- Information about the Literature Review is in the Appendix of the PH450 Project Booklet
- There is a Word template and an example from a previous year on MyPlace should they need one
- The Literature Review is not marked but may form the basis for the introductory chapter of the final project report. It should be written for a general physics audience.
- The Literature Review also should briefly include a description of the Project itself, motivation, what will done, how the work will be performed, and how project success will be measured.
- Aside from the cover sheet, the body of the literature review should be ~2 pages of A4 and under 1000 words (500-800 suggested), not including references.
If your assigned project student has not been in touch, or is showing signs of lack of engagement, then please let me know.
Daniel
