Hi all,
As a department we currently have a large number of excellent public engagement activities. Much of this is being done on personal time, as well as being organised through personal connections. This work is essential for a large number of reasons, not least being real impact to schools and children in the wider Glasgow area. However, the current method relies very heavily on individual people and the frequently duplication of efforts. I think that there are some easy ways where we can enhance our current efforts and reduce the amount of effort from any one person
One vision is that we have a set of kit with easy-to-follow user manuals, presentations, videos, how-to’s for schools, etc., … To get on the way towards this I would like to start capturing the range of activities, information, and resources. As a start, I would be like to sit down with some people from each research division to get an overview of what is going on and how we can build on this without an extra workload.
As action points,
* If you are interested in keeping up to date on outreach/engagement activities then please sign up to the publicengagement at phys.strath.ac.uk<mailto:publicengagement at phys.strath.ac.uk> mailing list
