Dear All,

Just a reminder that changes/additions to the 4th Year Project List are due this Friday 2/8/2019. Thanks to those who have already responded.

Students have been informed that they may approach supervisors about agreeing a project prior to the General Allocation process at the start of Semester I.

Regards,
Daniel.

Subject: PH450: Call for Projects for 2019-20

Dear All,

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the 4th Year projects, through supervision and assessment. For 2019-20 I would like to begin the process of updating the list of projects. For reference, last year's project booklet is on the idrive at Science\Physics\project\2018_2019\ Project Booklet 2018Q.docx

By default, I will assume you will be running the same project as last year. Otherwise, please give me details of any changes. New projects are always welcome. (see attached project description template). It would be good if academic and senior research staff could each offer at least 3 projects to give students a variety of topics to choose between (projects will be distributed evenly so that offering more projects will not commit you to supervising them all).

Normally, students will be allocated their projects at the start of the teaching period. However, they will have the option of approaching potential supervisors during the Summer to discuss the possibility of being pre-allocated a project if there is mutual agreement (e.g. a summer project student may wish to continue working with a supervisor for 4th Year project).

Friday 2nd August is the deadline for project changes/additions for the draft project booklet. Please also let me know if you have agreed with a student to pre-allocate your project.

Daniel
PH450 Project Co-Ordinator
