Dear All,

Please see the message below from the Dean regarding the Suppliers and
Industrial Partners conference on 20th August

Regards,

-------- Forwarded Message -------

Dear HoDs,

The Suppliers and Industrial Partners conference on 20^th August in the
TIC Building is gathering momentum with even more companies signing up
this week to attend. This is a unique and potentially pivotal
opportunity for academic staff and researchers to engage with industry
and to explore and uncover KE opportunities across the Faculty’s wide
ranging expertise base.

As I mentioned in my earlier email to all academic and research staff,
this is a great chance to network with industrial representatives on the
full range of KE activities, including provision of education in
employment, collaborative research, KTPs and industrially funded PhD
studentships.

Tuesday 20th August

To: All members of academic professional and technical staff, Faculty of
Science

I expect that many of you will have included a Knowledge Exchange
objective in your recently-completed ADR.  I thought it would be helpful
to draw your attention to an opportunity which might help you to realise
that objective through engaging with industry partners, i.e. the second
Science Faculty conference aimed at supporting innovation. This one-day
conference is being held on 20 August in TIC: see

https://www.strath.ac.uk/science/workingwithbusinessindustry/supportingoursuppliers/)

The programme (which is available online)includes overviews of exciting
developments such as the Glasgow City Innovation District and the
National Manufacturing Institute for Scotland.  This is a significant
opportunity to network with industry representatives on the full range
of Knowledge Exchange activities, including provision of education in
employment, collaborative research, Knowledge Transfer Partnership,
industry-funded PhD studentships.

To date, the following companies have confirmed their attendance (and
some will bring an exhibition stand)

Asynt

CEM

GoPrint3D

IBS Precision Engineering Ltd

Leafield Environmental Ltd

Malvern Panalytical

Ocean Optics BV

OCF plc

The Publishing Bureau

The Spark Erosion Centre

USC Hydraulics

I hope that many of you will sign up to attend the conference (which is
free for University of Strathclyde staff) and take advantage of a great
opportunity.
