Subject: Recruitment of Commonwealth Scholarship Academic Advisers

Dear Colleague,
The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK (CSC) is currently inviting academics to join our panel of Academic Advisers.
The role will appeal to academics with an interest in international development, sustainable development and/or the values of the Commonwealth, and who are looking to boost their experience of international scholarships and partnerships.
CSC Academic Advisers play a critical role in the selection of Commonwealth Scholars and Fellows, using an online report form to submit grades and comments which inform the scholarship candidate selections made by CSC Commissioners. Without the support of the panel of Academic Advisers, the CSC would not be able to fund high quality Commonwealth Scholars and place them at appropriate UK universities.
This year we are particularly looking for new panel members with expertise in the following subject areas:

  *   Biology
  *   Chemistry
  *   Civil Engineering
  *   Computing
  *   Development
  *   Economics
  *   Electrical Engineering
  *   Environmental Sciences
  *   Finance
  *   Management
  *   Public Health
  *   Social Policy
We would be most grateful if you could share this opportunity with relevant members of academic staff within your institution and particularly with the heads of departments for the subject areas listed above. The Commission is keen to attract prospective panel members who are from a range of UK universities; a broad range of specialisms; at Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Reader or Professorship level (or equivalent); and who have experience of teaching graduates and supervising PhD candidates.
The full job profile and application details are available on our website<http://cscuk.dfid.gov.uk/2019/11/recruiting-commonwealth-scholarship-academic-adviser-panel-members/>. The deadline for academics to submit an application for this round is 2 December 2019.
Please do not hesitate to get in contact with my colleague Juliette Hargreave at csc.secretariat at cscuk.org.uk<mailto:csc.secretariat at cscuk.org.uk> if you have should have any queries.
Yours sincerely,
Richard Middleton
