Dear PhD Physics students and supervisors,

Please see attached details of this year’s PGR assessment/progression
process.

Documents are attached giving the requirements and guidance notes for
each of years 1, 2 & 3 of PhD study. Please read the ones appropriate to
you. For first year students who started after Dec 2019, it may be
appropriate to postpone assessment. Please discuss with your supervisor.

The PG conference for first year PhD students will be held online on
19th August.

The PG poster session for 2nd year PhD students will be held online on
20th August.

Further details and instructions for both events will follow.

Obviously progress on many projects will have been significantly
affected by the Covid-19 lockdown, which will of course be taken into
consideration in any assessment of progress.

Regards

Gordon
