Hi

In case anybody is missing the questions from his/her resit and
consolidation exercise from last year in the current question bank,
apparently all changes done after June are not rolled forward. They
describe how to recover the questions below, if you do not want to use
copy and paste, but the import might other pitfalls.

I think for Physics it would work when the cut-off date is in mid August
and not in June. Is that something we want to demand to change?

Regards

Thorsten

Hi Thorsten

Ticket: https://helpdesk.strath.ac.uk/helpdesk/tickets/30245
<https://helpdesk.strath.ac.uk/helpdesk/tickets/30245>

That's right, if a class has been modified after the rollover in June,
then all the work done on the 2019-2020 instance of the class will have
gone with that instance in September, but will not have been
transferred to the 2020-2021 instance.
In the future, any work to appear on the next instance of the class
should be done on the next instance by using the relevant year in the
URL - here it would have been:
https://classes2020-2021.myplace.strath.ac.uk/course/view.php?id=24003
<https://classes2020-2021.myplace.strath.ac.uk/course/view.php?id=24003>
until the class has officially been rolled over (in September).

So, in order to retrieve the question bank from PH284 to start with it,
you will need to *(1)* go on the 2019-2020 instance of the class:
https://classes2019-2020.myplace.strath.ac.uk/course/view.php?id=24003
<https://classes2019-2020.myplace.strath.ac.uk/course/view.php?id=24003>

Once this has been done, *(2)* go to the question section of the
Administration panel, *(3)* then click on 'export'.
(Here you will get to choose which question to export in the 'export
category')

Now, go to the current instance of the class:
https://classes.myplace.strath.ac.uk/course/view.php?id=24003
<https://classes.myplace.strath.ac.uk/course/view.php?id=24003>

*(4)*, click on 'import' to import your question bank to the current
instance of the class.

Hope this helps, please let me know if something is unclear.

Kind regards,

    Hi

    We are quite surprised that categories and questions for one
    activity in PH284 last year were not copied over to this year
    MyPlace. These are PH284, EM, resit&consol, PH284, QP, resit&consol
    (see below). Might that be related that they were created quite late
    in the year, end July -early August? It does not seem to be possible
    to duplicate these questions into the current year either. Can you
    advice, please.

    The same happened for PH283. There the name of the corresponding
    categories is
    Resit and consolidation PH283 Mechanics
    Resit & consol PH283 Waves

    Resit/consolidation questions definitely still appear in the 2019/20
    Myplace QuestionBank, so they've not vanished completely!

    2. The questions from the resit exam do not seem to be there any
    more. Apparently the category was not copied over. Did you notice
    that or would you know whether they might be gone?
