A reminder that the Faculty deadline for SEA studentship applications
(i.e. those based on a named student) is approaching (*10th March*).
These are funded mainly by EPSRC and cover home fees and stipend for 42
months.
Please let me know if you have a candidate in mind for these
studentships. Candidates should make PhD applications via
pgr.strath.ac.uk .
What will be required for each SEA studentship application :
- student CV
- two references
- transcripts for undergraduate/Masters degrees
- just over £4K p.a. supervisor contribution to studentship. A suggested
breakdown of contributions (University/faculty/supervisor) for a 3.5
year EPSRC studentship is
EPSRC SEA (fees & stipend) : £41058
Faculty (stipend) : £17389
Supervisor (stipend) : £14500
Total : £72,947.00
This breakdown may be adjusted during the application process.
Applications should be submitted via the PGRapps system
(pgrapps.strath.ac.uk - see the "guidance" tab for additional
information). You can start and save draft submissions anytime.
A change from previous years is that all UKRI-funded studentship
applications now undergo a new Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
monitoring procedure (details attached). The action on supervisors is to
inform the departmental contact (Audrey) of the names and email
addresses of all applicants for the studentship, which applicants were
selected for interview, and who was the applicant selected. Studentship
funds will not be released by the PGR funding office if this is not done.
If you've any questions, please get in touch.
