[Academic] Returning PhD Students

Hi

Can I please ask supervisors to ensure that their PhD students are fully supported on their return to campus.

It would be helpful if supervisors were here on campus to greet them and show them around but I appreciate this is not always possible.  Could I therefore suggest that someone in the group be there to meet them and show them where their desk is, what equipment has been set out for them etc.

Admin and IT are currently short staffed and whilst we will do everything we can to ease their anxiety and help them on their first day we need supervisors and groups to help ensure their students have a good experience on their return and that they have everything they need.

For information, the new PGR administrative assistant will start on Monday 18th October.  It will take Michaela a bit of time to familiarise herself with our processes and procedures so we thank you in advance for your patience.
