Hello John,
I thought I should follow up on this, as we haven’t had disclosed any issues that would impact the grading of student work.
From what we can determine the message would seem to be referencing a ticket raised with us regarding the presentation of student submissions within the assignment activity.
Where a member of staff has more than 1 tab open in an assignment they can change the sorting and filtering of the student submissions, and the order that the students submissions are presented or scrolled through can be changed, and it may not be apparent to the staff user if they have multiple tabs open.
The other issue that arose was if the member of staff had a tab open with a given selection of submissions and then opened a new tab and change the selection criteria. Attempting to launch grading a student from the original, stale, tab, can result in a different student being displayed, if the selected student no longer meets the filter selections that had been subsequently applied.
Whilst there is a consistency in this, it is confusing from a usability perspective, so we have already started an engagement with the core Moodle product team about this to see what improvements could be made, that would reduce the chance of a member of staff applying a mark for one student to a different student.
We haven’t had any other reports of issues with quiz questions being marked incorrectly other than the relevant question answers being set wrong, but we will look in to this specific case from Olaf.
